How do I maintain my roof after installation?

Keep gutters and downspouts clear, remove debris and moss promptly, and have the roof inspected once a year and after any major storm. Catching small issues early is what protects the warranty and the roof's service life.

The most common avoidable problems are clogged gutters that back water up under the drip edge, tree limbs and debris left on the roof surface, and small flashing or sealant failures that go unnoticed until water is already inside.

Avoid pressure-washing asphalt shingles — it strips the granules and shortens the roof's life. For flat roofs, keep drains clear and check the membrane after storms.

BrightView can inspect and service your roof as part of an ongoing maintenance routine.

How often should I clean my gutters?

At least twice a year, in spring and fall, and more often if you have overhanging trees. Gutter guards reduce how often this is needed.

Does maintenance affect my roof warranty?

Manufacturer warranties typically require reasonable maintenance. Keeping records of yearly inspections supports a claim if you ever need one.

Can you inspect my roof after a storm?

Yes. Post-storm inspections are a standard part of our service and are free.
